Congrats on your new place. Nice wall color. How many people will use this sitting area regularly, how many do you need to sit?

Not to be a downer but, you chose very over stuffed furniture for a small space, and love seats really only comfortably seat one person. Is any of your furniture returnable? I'd consider an apartment sized sofa and chair both with slender lines if you are thinking about multiple people. If it is usually only you and another person in the house, consider a small sectional.

I'd have shelves made to go above the fridge that match the mantle. You can put bar items on them or use for display.

Can you return the loveseat / It is bulky looking and honesly loveseats are really just big chairs where you can't reach one arm rest. get a sofa and the 2 chairs hopefully the 2 chairs are not as bulky as the loveseat Find another home for the wine fridge or do a counter over it with some shelves for glass storage

@Natalie congratulations on your new space! I wish I had started over with new furniture. It would have been less expensive to move for sure! I know you are excited to get your place furnished, but take your time. You did the same thing I did and regret. I fell in love with a Cordovan leather arm chair and ottoman at Ethan Allen and bought the two loveseats the sales lady recommended to go with it. She even came to the house and showed how we could stuff it all in our living room with a carpet and an area rug on top. I will never again let a sales person act as my designer.

But I will say I love the love seats too. I didn't know anything about interior design, but our best friends really liked all the leather, because we had cats they were allergic to. The leather didn't hold cat hair. They sat together on them with us comfortably, even though both of them were a bit overweight.

I use them even more than I use the chair that started it all. My husband and I sit on one to chat with the kids over the phone or review taxes on the laptop. My mom and I used to sit together on one to talk and hold hands. My kids would take turns sitting with me on it to watch TV or stare at the Christmas tree and talk for hours. They all got used at our daughter's baby shower.

I am glad I have loveseats instead of a sectional. I just wish I could get rid of the sectional in the family room and put one of the loveseats there, move the chair and ottoman up to the primary bedroom, and have fun selecting two pairs of contemporary chairs, one for each loveseat. In other words, when you do this again, don't get everything to match. You want guests to be comfy, so maybe choose one leather item. Not only does it help with allergies, but it feels cool in summer. Some people "run hot". Leather doesn't like to live near a window though. Great on the north side of the house or an interior end of the room.

Just some thoughts. Take what you will. Most importantly, enjoy your new space!

@Natalie a separate thought here on color schemes. You said you like neutrals, but even decorating with neutrals can be challenging. Clutter really shows with them so think about each piece you buy and it's storage potential. Think about how much room it will take up that can't be used for a storage piece. Was that ottoman a storage ottoman? If so, you got the idea right!

Also think of each neutral as color. So far, I think you have yellow-beige walls, orange-brown wood floor, maybe white trim, a black TV and wine fridge, and yellow-beige loveseat. So if you want just neutrals, you're off to a good start. Just work to balance them. You likely will be adding hard furniture for wine glasses, appetizers, the remote and other items. Look at options that are black and that orange wood in your floor or darker for some excitement, but keep it orange unless you want to introduce and repeat a new color. Consider items of various materials like copper or painted-black metal, wood, glass/mirror, wicker/rattan, leather, and fur in addition to your fabric. I just love a faux fur throw to snuggle with, especially in winter. Who needs comfort food if you have one. 🤗

@Natelie mood boards are such fun! And I see you have added a touch of green! Well now I'm excited about that. Green adds so much to a room with beiges and caramels. I like this throw, and it has the same colors. And I love that light fixture in the Amazon home mood board. I love the new contemporary light fixtures made possible with LED lights. And that's a cute bistro table and chairs. That's what we use for breakfast, though our table is s tiny bit bigger. How do you use yours?

@Natalie you don't have to lie this idea, but I just wondered, if you added green, might you be up for a tiny bit of happy in the room? If not, it's ok. Not everyone is up for happy, and prefer things to be behaved.

I think you need to keep on the long path of shopping for a sofa you love that is comfortable. The new one on your mood board looks like it will swallow your room and maybe your guests too!

@Kendrah agreed. I like the trim lines of the ones @Red Ryder posted, especially the green one...just get it in a neutral. My preference is leather with chairs in fabric. Leather lasts longer. Fun to replace chairs when the fabric is worn.

Go to Burrows.com and browse. Most of their sofas come in several colors and they also have leather. A neutral camel sofa (if you like leather) will work in more than one house and with many colors. Neutral doesn't have to be "cream colored sofa" and definitely no gray.

If possible purchase a modern and streamline sofa in a dark brown that contrasts with the lighter beige wall. For armchairs, go with small and modern styled chairs perpendicular to the sofa, facing the view of the sliding glass door. For your mini fridge, that spot if perfect but I would hide it in a goregous black cabinet. In the alcove opposite the mini fridge I would add a small writing desk. I attached a 3D rendering down below! (You did not post I floorplan so I tried to guess the measurements)
