I would do two smaller-scale sconces, centered over each window. Or a puck light over the sink. All of the puck lights should be over the countertops, not over the aisles.

I too imagined two sconces, one centered over each window. It will help anchor and balance the look of the window area and distract from any unbalanced or random feeling placement of the sink below. It will like the space evenly as well.

We have the same window setup with the wide trim in between, though did opt to center our sink. We went with pendants centered on the top sash of each window. (Hard to tell in the photo, but we don't have enough room over the window trim that sconces above the windows would have been an option; if your windows are lower and/or shorter, you could do those too.)

I will say that we rarely use these lights. I really like them because they're on a dimmer and we sometimes turn them on late at night to have a low light on in the house before someone arrives home, but most of the time we use the general lighting for the space (three semi-flush mount schoolhouse fixtures on the ceiling) and don't bother turning them on.

I had the exact same thought as everyone else reading your conundrum that putting two lights each centered on one window would be a good solution. You'll have plenty of lighting for your sink area and it should help provide some balance. Alternatively you can skip the hanging / decorative fixtures and just do recessed lighting.

Thanks to all those who replied. I wasn't loving the idea of yet another puck light, and will go with two wall sconces. I'm looking for smaller ones that would work better than the light I planned to use, and have found several. that should work nicely. FYI, the other puck lights are for overall room lighting - we'll have undercounter lights as well.

I have this setup. I ended up not doing decorative in this location, but when I planned to, it was exactly how Rebunky drew up.
