Cabinets; light, darker walnut or gray? I think light
Walls : Dover white now. I think too much contrast??
Backsplash: leave or take it up the wall? Thanks!!

What else is or can be changed? Why not the tops? DIY or hiring out? Budget? What is your goal, any inspiration pics?

Are you asking whether to take the fancy tile around the tub "up the wall"? I'd say no. I like it! But it's one of those things where a little bit goes a long way; you already have the right amount of busy tile. Instead, I'd add a large piece of art that ties into the color in the tile. And I'd like to see the pattern repeated somewhere else in the room ... could you find floor mats with something similar?

Are you talking about replacing the cabinet or just painting it? If you replace it, definitely add in some drawers. Drawers will give you storage space at the vanity, which you badly need (to get rid of that clutter on the countertop). Buyers don't pay much attention to the cabinets in the bathrooms, and builders like to "cheap out" and skip the drawers. As to color ... not white; the woodtone is a grounding feature in this room. Maybe lighter. I'm not sure about it. I'm not sure I'd do anything to it.

Here's what bothers me more than the things you asked: A dark, moody wall with personality ... over three bland, builder-basic mirrors with the clips showing. The mirrors look straight out of a freshman dorm bathroom. I'd lose the multiple mirrors, which are "too cluttery" for the space" and replace them with one large, nice mirror with a frame (gold to match the faucets?) that would make the mirror "pop" off that dark background. Ideally you'd find a mirror that's wide and a bit ornate. The multiple mirrors look like they're not evenly spaced -- but it's because one's reflecting only a single picture, while the other two reflect much more.

Reconsider the lights. Or maybe just the globes. 9 lights in this space ... with see-through globes is causing more than a bit of glare. Consider pendants, which "bring the light down" to face level.

I'm split on your hardware ... are those champagne gold fixtures over the sinks and in the tub? But black handles on the vanity. I see why you made the choices, but it reads as mismatched. Is it possible to get handles with black AND gold?

    Other thoughts:

    - Replace the plain black trash can with a woven-basket type trash can.

    - Add some greenery or flowers somewhere (good quality fake is fine).

    - Put away the cleaning products, which are anything but relaxing!

    - Add a free-standing fingertip towel holder between the two sinks.

    - You don't have a towel bar within reach of the tub -- not sure how to handle this.

$1.98 cultured marble is one of the FIRST things that needs to go.

You don't change cabinets without pulling off the counters. At that point, it all goes in the dump.
