A large convex mirror would pick up the light and be very interesting. I like the warm tones to go with the wood table. Just the mirror and centered.

A couple of notes:

Because of the size of the dining area and the shape of the ceiling detail, your room would be better served by a square or round table. The rectangular table extends beyond the confines of the area and fights the architecture.

I would recommend you take advantage of the large wall behind the table and place a large canvas or other large element of wall decor. That piece can be as dynamic or as subtle as you like.

The wall decor and be a collection of like objects.

I was going to suggest one large piece of artwork the size that Beverly depicted. It really defines the space and makes it look larger. I would make sure to hang it below where the shadow casts from the tray ceiling light. You'll want to measure the space between the shadow line and the top of your chairs to get the right size for the piece.

No mirror if it is not going to reflect something beautiful, or anything that is sculpture or sticks out from the wass. Stick with a canvas or photographic print.

It does look uncomfortable with the chairs and dining table design close to the wall and competition between chair and table legs.

Rather than buy a big flat thing of spotches from Home Depot just to paste color in an area, I'd continue with the theme of San Francisco with similar sized framed photos in b&w, sepia and one colored one would be fine if you find one you particularly like. I would even consider repeating the GG bridge in color, the same shot. Consider making some of the frames gold metal.

If too-much-San-Francisco is too much, any interest in going with a bridges theme? Lots of great bridges in the world, large and small, and they would look nice with your long table, the placemats and metals. I think one huge GG bridge would make the place look like a diner, but additinal single prints would look good.

Is it possible to look for a large piece of artwork that might work well with your other decor items? You also might look at rotating the table for more room and perhaps adding a rug to soften the space. Here are some ideas for you from recent designs of ours.
