It's just my opinion but I would say your tile setter really knew what he was doing. It looks like you have a really well-executed tile installation and, in this situation, having all the tiles run horizontally looks as though it was a better solution for this shower. No reason to tear out the tile or change the grout.

I'm sure there is some perfectly good rationale for using green & peach tile together that will become apparent as the bathroom comes together.

Did you want the side walls vertical too and if you make the change to vertical in pink would you make the change on the sides too? I'd have all three walls going the same direction, all vertical or all horizontal.

Do not do pink grout, at all. Period.

Your contractor is a supreme jerk. (I've gotten the exact same excuse of "It was in writing but you told me verbally to do it differently." Total gaslighting, yet you have to preserve the relationship.) But ultimately, only you can decide if it is worth the money to get it the way it should have been done in the first place. When you take the cost for the revision (new tile + the 50% discounted new install) what % of your overall renovation cost is the amount of this revision? This might help you put it in perspective financially. Also, is the tile in stock and easy to obtain?

I think vertical is a very different more contemporary look. I personally don't like the vertical and prefer the horizontal. But you had a specific vision and have to decide whether you can adapt to the new look or will regret it.

Just curious. Is this a new to you home in a far locale? I only ask as you used "remodel" in your text. That shower had to take him at least three days to finish/grout. You never saw progress along the way?

That asked, I think he did a great job the "wrong" way. I'd leave it, not risk water proof integrity, take 50% off his fee and move on. No to the pink grout.

I also think the current tile looks great as is and I agree looks like a well done job. I personally find all the tile too busy and would not choose it but do think it looks well done. I wouldn't change a thing and definately NO to pink grout.

Leave it alone and style the space as is. It’s not worth the time, money or waste to redo.

The colors work great together. Pink and grey is a classic combo, much more attractive than pink and white which IMO, takes on a bit of a birthday cake look. The white/grayish sidewalls look great with the floor. Keep the horizontal and ask for a discount on the install as is.

I dislike the tile color choice but if removing the tile the waterproofing could have issues so if you love the color combo let it be and take a discount and use the money something else . I honestly do not think the vertical was the right choice with the choice of the tile colors

I think the horizontal looks great. Additionally if you tear the tiles out, it all needs to be waterproofed again which is a major job. (They did waterproof behind the tiles?)

It looks good as is, even though I know it's not exactly what you wanted. I can't imagine it's worth it to rip it all out, have to redo the waterproofing, and pay for tile again.

I think pink grout is a really really bad idea. I'd just leave it alone.

Cpartist: calm the rudeness please. She was just expressing an opinion that quite frankly I agree with. I think the color combo is horrible. But would keep all the tile going in the same direction one way or the other.

I like the gray and pink. I think the shower looks great.

Why is it so hard to stick to the question asked? Whether you would made the same choice is immaterial and unhelpful.
