Hello,

New guy here.

I'm somewhat stumped with what sort of colour and tile to go with in our kitchen. The floor right now is this really cheap vinyl flooring that is beginning to yellow. We've been slowly resuscitating the kitchen from the 70's and all that is left is the floor and some recessed LED lights in the ceiling.

It is an extremely small kitchen and there are no windows. Only window is the side door that is near the coat rack.

I want to give the illusion of a bigger kitchen but unsure what size tile, design or colour to go with. I am thinking white but unsure about the rest. I find the colour of the floor right now to absorb any light there is.

I have the layout map marked where I took the photo.

This weird vinyl floor also goes into the dining/den room that goes out to the backyard and also in the hallway that connects to the bathroom and bedroom.

Usually I know exactly what to do, but this time I'm somwhat unsure and wanted to see if anyone else could help out in desgin department.

I am a military posting and this is also not our forever home. Just something we've been picking away at. So the 'island' and coffee station won't be staying.
