One thing for sure that stove is a fire hazard. Post a floor plan with measurements of the entire first floor

the dining nook plus kitchen plus dining room..[behind pantry wall??] is alltogether a VERY large amt of sq footage. Get your budget allocated so you know what you can do. It might be wise to plan a walk in pantry somewhere in order to cut the cost of SO MUCH cabinetry. Provide an overhead diagram of lengths of walls/ existing cabinet locations and what total encompassed area you will be working with. What kind of seating do you want...and for how many people.....how many seating spots? Is this a FULL REMODEL? EVERYTHING replaced???

If that's the case....There are many things you can do.

It would definitely help to have a floor plan drawn, but at a minimum, move the range to the current frig wall so you can have a fan that vents to the outside and move the frig elsewhere, probably to the pantry wall.

@herbflavor yes, full remodel, everything replaced. It is a big space but I'm struggling envisioning how it will work as an open space with an island to seat 3 - 4 people. Appreciate your insights

You're struggling because opening it all up and an island may not be the best plan for the space.

What about the living room and dining room?

While you say you don't have measurements, you can buy a 25' tape measure and measure all the rooms which will help us help you.
