I sure am suffering from daylily deprivation. We still have a few blooming and even a few still putting up new scapes, but the nights have been so chilly that the flowers don't look like much. We are still working in the garden. All of the moving is done for the year, but we have to take up landscape fabric, plow the seedling beds and sow winter rye.

I thought I would go through some pictures and post some of the newer ones that I really liked this season and say a few things about them.

Badenoch Jewel was planted in '22 but it performed very well this year.

Bengal Teeth is not new but it is one that performed better than it had. It's in a bad location and is being overshadowed by some bigger growers around it. Still, I don't know if it will remain. The scapes are not very tall and it's not overly toothy, so it's on the preliminary hit list.

Chitty Chitty Fang Fang is another that is not new but finally decided to bloom. If it continues to get better, it will stay.

Computer Virus was planted in '22. I like a hose in hose double. I also think the coloring is interesting, especially the shadings on the tips of the petals.

Disco Inferno is one I picked up at a club sale cheap. My intention was to increase it for sale. It's a great grower and Bob wants to keep a piece. It's one of the brightest in the garden.

Edward Abbey is another I picked up cheap at a club sale. Curt Hanson is sure the master of the deep dark purples with watermarks.

Fantasy and Dreams was purchased because it's a late bloomer. I was a bit afraid it might not be hardy (it's from Mark Carpenter), but so far it is getting better and better. It's one of the few late blooming purple tets we have.

Feanorian Lamps is a dip from Bob Faulkner. It's not a big grower and the flowers are one the small side (5 inches), but it has been lovely.

Greywoods Lips a Quiver is taking its time getting established, but we hope to use it in breeding because of the nice edge and intense eye color. We didn't do anything with it this past season though. We quit hybridizing (except for a few--most diploids) when the tree disaster happened.

I really enjoyed Heavenly Angel Kisses. I like the subtle coloring. The flowers are on tall strongs scapes too.
