Agree with plf, remove columns if not load bearing, then move TV to wall opposite fireplace, place tv viewing chairs angled on each side of fireplace, for additional seating add either 2 more similar chairs arranged around a round coffee table OR 2 sofas facing each other for entertaining

Post a floor plan with measeurement of the room, windows and doors. You'll get more help that way.

As long as the mantle deflects heat away from the TV, there isn't a problem with placing the TV over the fireplace, when you have as few options as you have in this space.

Or you could place the TV on the wall to the right of the opening.

I dislike TVs above FPs so a floor plan would be nice to get a feel for the space . A to scale plan on graph paper posted here in a comment in jpeg formt show the fp , windows and door ways and where those lead . Every measurements clearly marked DO NOT start another post . BTW I really do not like sectionals they have only 2 seats with an arm rest everyone else get the same as the cener seat in a sofa , when you add a chaise that forces one person to sit with their feet up not a great look. Why not put the TV on the wall behind the brown sectional and get a sofa and 2 chairs configure the pices out to see both the FP and the TV maybe swivel chairs.

It would help if you could post a thumbnail floor plan with measurements. First, overall dimensions then go around the perimeter with all measurements. I would be happy to do a floor plan in scale.

What is the space beyond the columns? Is it part of the room?

It made me laugh when you said your husband needs to be facing the tv. Every guy I know wants to face the tv directly. It does make designing spaces challenging! Looks like a beautiful room, I'm sure we can help.

Thanks. Going away for a trip but I’ll get those measurements. Behind the columns is just a pass through area like hallway with the 2nd floor above it.

You can correct the measurements and I can revise. Is there an opening/door on the bottom wall? It's a beautiful room, however, not conducive for a furniture layout. Sometimes I wonder what architects are thinking. Surely it's not that people will live there!

I can see why the opening to the sun porch is wide, as it's the only source of good natural light. I'm not sure you will want to make it smaller.

Honestly the only spot that might work is to the right of the door frame (that leads to the gym area). That might be the best spot for the TV. The sectional needs to be positioned according to that spot unless you are willing to get a sofa and chairs instead.
