Hey Mark, they just stated 8”-10” between the fireplace and a TV is what most do. But then said personal preference off the floor. I tried to abide by the tv viewing and height rules. A tad higher in my design but I could maybe shift things up a tad to make sure the fireplace isn’t too low

I like the lower spacing in the inspiration pic. Even lower for me. It seems like it's personal preference. The dimensions of the unit will contribute.

It's my understanding the heat from the FP is not good for the TV and that recessing the screen provides it with some protection.

This is the optimum height for the TV screen, so the FP should be mounted below that.

Ir appears odd to me if the TV is larger than the linear FP.

Extending the face of the FP opening looks like a good way to protect the TV screen

We put in a linear fireplace. I cut and pasted the one I liked into a picture of the existing one at scale. Did the same for the TV, pasted it in at scale.

Due to a pre-existing hearth we have it about 12.5" off the floor (1 ft of hearth and .5" of wall). It is about the same height fireplace as yours (19.63").

First we installed a 77" TV 12" above that. But we didn't like the 77" TV we bought as it was hard to use so we returned it and got a 65".

The reason we switched size is the 77" was very large to mount and dismount. We had to hire people. The 65" seemed like it would be enough and was alot easier to handle. We also had moved the sofa further back because the TV was so large. With the 65" we were able to move it back to where we had it which suited the room layout better.

We used the same TV hangers for both and the 65" is now 10" above the linear fireplace. It works OK because I have progressive lenses and had started to bend my head to see through the tops for our old lower tv but I wouldn't mind it about 6" lower.

We chose a 48" wide linear electric. Our old wood burning fireplace was 48" wide so that made pasting into the picture at scale easy. Also I didn't like any of the pictures where the linear electric was wider than the TV. I very much like the TV being wider than the fireplace.

I agree the maker of the FP should have some mention of this application

My linear 48" gas fp is 11" from the floor...nice to sit in front of it and feel the warmth. I have a hollow metal mantle to block the heat from ruining the recessed tv. My tv matches the width of the fp, looks balanced. I followed manufacturer's recommendation for tv distance. After 3 years of lots of winter time use, no problems with the set up.

I am looking at the Modern Flames Orion Slim 60" Electric fireplace.

I can always switch to a 70" TV which is about 61" in width. With that I am sure they will look the same in regards to width.

That is a much fancier one than we used. It looks fantastic! Even though we used a cheaper one I have been in love with it since we put it in. We never used our wood burning. This one I have running all the time for the light show. Gives great ambiance to the room. We wired it with a dedicated circuit for heat but will probably never use the heat because we have infloor radiant heat which is very even and do not need an accessory heat source.

Yeah this home is all electric as solar panels are in my future, Which is why I am doing electric, and like you will likely never use the heat function
