Water based is not an option (I have another post on this). It's an extra 1800 plus I'm fine with the oil based. We had it before. No yellowing on white oak stained dark walnut.

Can I ask what color stain you used SM?

it’s a new build so not sure what product they used. I think the flooring company ( Amish) does a custom stain mix. Info I have says it’s MHP Almond stain with BCA Natural effect finish I’ll attach a pic if it might help

it was done by Mount Hope Planing, so that’s probably the MHP 😊

If, you are using oil base poly. Your choices of sheen is satin, semi-gloss and gloss. Matte, ultra matte, Invisble, raw or wood look is not available.

I would go with satin. It will be pretty similar to what you already had, and you seemed to like that a lot.

cat_ky thank you and you are right. Made the decision to stay with satin. Appreciate the comment - sometimes I just need to talk these things out! :)

I know that feeling. I was rearranging some things this morning, and couldnt make up my mind, so I talked to the dog. He listened, but, made no opinion, but, it did help me make my decisions. :-)

Satin is a very livable finish. Good choice!
