Anyone have first-hand experience with an installed ductless mini-split system in San Francisco, or the larger Bay Area? How shocking (or surprisingly not) is your PG&E bill? Our GC brought in an HVAC guy that suggests it's the way to go, citing the oft-heard reasons: felxibility of room-by-room heating/cooling, future NG prices (I guess he has crystal ball), etc, etc. I don't yet have the bid/quote, but I know it will be an expensive install. (Separately got a $13,000 bid for gas furnace install: unit, ducts, labor, etc.). House is 3/2, ~1500 sf. house. I'm intrigued but not sold. Thanks in advance.
