gaggenau induction cooktop

We have a chance to purchase a used gaggenau induction cooktop. Unfortunately, one of the corners of the metal frame is bent. Is this a deal breaker? Could the frame be removed from the glass cooktop to be straightened? If it matters, we would probably go with a surface mount, not flush mount. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would be nervous about buying a used unit. I recommend that you read Gaggenau's warranty terms. Off the top of my head, I don't believe that you would be covered for future problems.

I believe the model has been sold, but it is VI492613. In doing a bit more research, I think that the entire glass and edging would have to be replaced. That's at least a $1000 problem.

The Gaggenau VI492613 ($??) isn't significantly different than the Bosch Benchmark NITP660SUC ($3450) though the Bosch cannot be flush-mounted. The frameless Fisher Paykel CI365DTB4 ($3300) can be flush-mounted.

Thanks. The reason I liked that particular Gaggenau is that it has knobs. As someone who has never owned an induction cooktop, I thought the transition from gas/electric might be easier with knobs.
