I have the plybead (plywood grooved to look like beadboard) as backsplash in one of my apartment buildings. Still perfect after twenty years.

IMO tile is the answer for backsplash You can get tile that looks like beadbord I have no idea why you would want to look like beadbord but thats me. For sure not some cheap looking stick on plastic.

Did you mean MDF beadboard? Once it's painted, it looks great. I'd go with a satin or semi-gloss finish for the paint so it's easy to wipe down.

Restaurants use it in Kitchens/storage areas, were a scrubbable wall is required.

Caulk the joints cleanly and it will look great.

If you plan to use PVC beadboard in the bathroom, you'd want to install it as a wainscot detail.

Can you paint that white beadboard and does paint stay on.
