Mineral spirits on a rag and buff one of the spots to see if it fixes it. Don’t use a mop with mineral spirits!

It depends on the adhesive. Examples:

• Bostik's BEST: No post-cure instructions provided.
• Bostik ULTRAGRIP: "After cure, adhesive may be removed with a plastic scraper and dry, non-abrasive towel, taking care not to damage the finish."
• Roberts 1407: "Dried adhesive – mineral spirits (sparingly) on a clean, cotton cloth."
• Henry 1171N SURELOCK: "Use mineral spirits for dried adhesive residue, carefully following warnings on the container. When using mineral spirits, test a small area before proceeding to make sure it does not damage the surface being cleaned."

I second the recommendation to have the contractor come back. It sounds to me like you are unsure if it's adhesive glue from the job, so I presume it could even be a defect in the flooring itself. The contractor might be the best person to evaluate exactly what the problem is.

If the "glue" spots are small and not all over the place, I have found tea tree oil will remove a lot of glue-type substances. It's expensive and comes in like a 2 oz bottle so this won't work for large areas. Do check a small, inconspicuous place to make sure the tea tree oil doesn't mess up the finish on your floor!
