Accurate size for Otto Luyken laurel?

Hi all,

I thought I posted questions about this shrub a few years back when I was first considering buying it, but I can't find the thread to refer to it.

So, I did end up buying one, and while it is growing nicely and doing well (besides what I think is called shot hole disease) I'm now wondering what an accurate size estimate for this shrub is. It seems to be all over the place, including this conflicting info *in the same sentence* lol:

'Otto Luyken' is a compact cultivar that grows only 3-4 feet tall and spreads to 6-8 feet. Over time it can grow 6-10 feet tall.

So is it ONLY going to get to 3-4 feet tall, or will it continue on to 6-10? And how long is "over time"? And really, 6-10 feet itself is a pretty big range!

Since I planted this in a border along my property line I'm thinking I for some reason expected it to get at least 6 feet tall. Does anyone have real-life experience to share regarding size? I need to move it in spring to accommodate another shrub and just wondering if I should stick it somewhere else altogether if it's not going to go over 4 feet.

Thanks!

:)

Dee
