I would pull the sofas closer for a better flow/more intentional furniture layout that is conducive to conversation. What does the other end of the room look like? Where were you planning to put the chairs? If the room is long enough, the two chairs could flank the fireplace and the sofas would move down some. Hard to say without seeing a complete floor plan with measurements.

The room is open to the kitchen. I was planning to put the chairs facing the fireplace between the kitchen and living room to create a rounded seating area for conversation. Not enough room to put chairs flanking fire place. Thoughts on rug color/shape/style?
