I am looking to put a 10x20 semi-above ground pool in my backyard in the next 6 months. Also, I may want to extend my home out 8-10 feet into the backyard sometime in the future, maybe 5-10 years from now. In my area you have to have the pool a minimum of 5 feet from the house. If I want to have a 10 ft wide pool (20ft long), I will have to start the pool 13-15 feet back from the current house to accommodate that expansion. I don't have tons of room to go much further and it might look silly if I end up never doing the home addition if it is set too far back. A few questions:

1.) Would contractors have enough space with the 5 feet from the edge of the pool to build an expansion without destroying the pool perimeter? They would have to work around existing pool and deck.

2. ) Is an 8ft home add-on even worth it (27x8)? I'm not sure I could even do a 10 ft add-on with my room.

Just looking for advice so I have this possibility after installing the pool. Don't want issues later on. Thanks!
