Oh it’s indoors. I’d forgotten that people outside the UK’s cold autumn climate might read this 😃 The early cold here seeps into every thought!

I read various options for dealing with pests and the one I saw recommended in various places and as useful overall, and which I also had to hand in the house, was rubbing alcohol. I now also have neem oil.

I sprayed the topsoil and the leaves. The plant has never been outside. It was originally from IKEA.

Yes my main concerns are that whatever it is doesn’t infest my other plants—it lived next to a mature Monstera which itself is by a Yukka, and not too far from a mature Xanadu, which all seem ok so far—and also that whatever it is doesn’t infest the house.

I spoke with a houseplant trader over the phone yesterday—not where I bought the plant—and they advised that my description of the bug didn’t sound like anything normal and that it could be more trouble than it’s worth to try to save the plant.

For now, the Peace lily is in the middle of my box room, away from all other plants. I’ve taken some new photos just now.

I’d far prefer to avoid using insecticide on all my plants. I have many throughout the house and also have a dog.

Hello Lindsey. Even though your video is a little blurry, I agree, that's a mite. But not a spider mite... I think it's a soil mite. Take a look at this LINK and see if you agree.

Thanks @rdback. I’m not sure? I‘ve watched a few soil mite videos and can see that some are white and move around a lot but none seem as fast as those in my plant, nor quite as long-legged? I would like it very much if you’re right. How sure are you?

I'm leaning more toward that's what they are than not, lol. Certainly not 100% sure.
