There are just not that many fragrant evergreen rhodies, especially if you stick with the hybrids (species plants are harder to locate). According to the UBC forums, Else Frey is just not as hardy as many others - likely the reason it is omitted from the GPP listings - and can be subject to winter cold damage (and therefore the lack of flowering) in our occasional Arctic blasts.

I'd stick with Loderi King George or any of the Loderi breeding series. Or visit a rhodie specialty nursery during bloom season (like Whitney Gardens) or the Species Foundation Botanical Gardens in Federal Way in mid to late spring.
