Front door window privacy?

We have two front doors with large windows incorporated. The builder did not use privacy glass. What is the best way to add privacy to the windows?

You will need an aftermarket film. HD has a nice pebble texture one that is very convincing even up close.

There is something new, an electronic window film that turns on and off with a light switch. I saw it on a home tour and am trying to ask the architect who did the work, no answer yet.

You have options depending on your budget: sheer panel gathered on top and bottom rods and belted in middle or not, or removable static cling frosted film, or pleated shades, or plantation shutters. If you just want to cover the sidelights, you can add mini blinds or a tall plant.

What am I missing please? What's going on in your hallway that needs privacy? Is my life really this dull? You could put a 24/7 camera throughout my condo and even the most committed voyeur would be bored to death in minutes.

Thank you everyone! I actually have a sheer gathered in the center on a tension rod right now problem is the windows are a weird size and I haven’t been able to find sheets that really fit. Right now I think they just look kinda dumb and cheap. I’m not crazy about the window film. I think I’m going to get some natural woven roller shades or Romans that will match the dark window but I can still get light in during the day. The doors are large and look right through to the living room couch, dining area etc. Very open foyer so we need something

I meant match the dark stained doors

Joseph Corlett - you are missing a whole lot. Do you really think every home in North America has a hallway in front of the front door? I doubt you think that since you must have been in many homes in your ”Pro” job. Many homes’ front doors give directly onto a living room, or other occupied space. You’d also have to be living on another planet not to have seen the ring cameras’ recordings on the internet of people peering into front doors to see if there is anything valuable worth breaking in for. Your comment has no point to it or purpose.

Agree aem04. I was confused by JC's comment. I have similar issue to OP. And I am at the bottom of a hill so when cars drive down at the hill at night their lights shine right into my living room. I'm looking at window film to solve my issue, but not the best option.

“Wallpaper for Windows”. Applies with just water, no glue. Can be removed/moved anytime. We put it in a bathroom and front door and it’s still perfect 20+ years later.
