How often do you host? I would put the TV flat on the clock wall and pull the sectional off the window some. Then get a chair for where the old sofa is now. But without a floor plan and measurements of the sectional and sofa it's hard to give good advice.

If you put the dog on the old couch, she pulls the colors together. Throw pillows might work as well.

But the concern for me is that the entry is clogged. As already stated, a floorplan would be helpful.

I agree with ginatay ^^^ right now it looks like you’re planning to host an intervention (not to be snarky) - removing the old, shifting the arrangement to not block the windows, add a lounge chair or two - will look and function so much better!

As mentioned by someone above, unless you have a houseful of guests every day I suggest you replace your old sofa for every day living giving which will also give you a better furniture layout with 1 or 2 armchairs depending on the space you have (no dimensions were given). Below is a layout to give you an idea of what can be done to make your new sofa be the star in you room with throw pillows, lamps, art on the wall, and a nice long TV cabinet along the wall. I suggest you bring in some light colour to take away from everything now brown on brown with a flat weave rug as well as the accent pillows and armchairs. Not only does the sofa crowd the room - visually AND physically but it is shabby and creates an overall downgrade look.

Also a sofa really only seats two people comfortably which is why the standard is a sofa and two occasional chairs although with a sectional you are already crowding the space.
