I assume a nice walkout . Why do yu need a dining table there? I need a bit more info I think. The sectional is driving the bus so if you have to keep it then you need to figure out where it fits and then maybe change the projector to work with thta . IMO the sectional is all wrong for entertaining since 2 people can only use seats it they put their feet up it is reall y the wronf furniture for the space ,

I agree the sectional makes the hosting space challenging. We have thought about selling it too. What would you recommend in place of it? 2 3 seater couches?

I always like a sofa and 2 chairs it is flexible and moveable when needed . If you post a to scale floor plan here you will get some real help as to size of pieces Post here in jpeg show all windows doorways and every measurement and that includes where the posts are. Post everything to do with this dilemma here in comments DO NOT start another post.

I would change how the sectional sits in the room so you can add a couple other chairs to it. Flip its location so if faces the tv nor projector

Have you thought of flipping the spaces? The area by the french doors looks much more inviting and maybe more space for furniture arranging? Where it is now, it looks too close to the screen for comfortable viewing. Though not ideal aesthetically, I would consider separating out one of the chaises from the sectional to allow for more seating on both pieces.

The pool table prevents any type of couch being placed on the opposite side of the support beam

I also considered the bar top table and stools to be a way to add seating @kandrewspa We are open to selling the sectional if there is a better option

We used theater seats for our similar space, with a bar height table behind. Eventually we will build it in like the pic @kandrewspa posted below. I like theater seats since they sit people in a row and everyone gets an arm rest. And a drink holder. If you build in a bar, you could disguise your post as one end of it.

I'd also say more people hang out at the bar height table than sit in the seats. Not sure exactly why but maybe it's because the only time we have that many people over is for sporting events and people want to move around more?

I might consider putting the projector screen on the opposite wall and having the entrance to the theater space open to the dining table. You'll get less glare on your screen that way, and it might divide the space better.

If you keep it where it is, I would push it up against the left wall. Right now the projector isn't centered on your seating, which is awkward.

Is the sectional staying? It looks like it barely fits. It could be useful to try a sofa with chairs instead. You can also add ottomans and bean bags for more sitting alternatives.
