I am starting to build a new home in the spring this is all for planning. For layout though, the fridge and micro are on left wall, range in center of back wall, kitchen is 20x14.

Ranges are often a stand-alone accent color. If your other color selections are harmonious with a black "feature" piece, it can be nice. As Cate said, we need pictures.

I know we all want them to match and look coordinated--especially when new. But honestly, I think the average person sort of gives applicances a pass. We all kind of block them out and aren't looking for them to match perfectly like you would tile, a back splash, or paint color, for example. Appliances are held to a different standard, because we all know that we need them, and aethetics are secondary--IMHO.

Having all black appliances with the moss green (?) cabinetry could lean dark. So maybe the designer is looking to break it up. But it really depends on the look that you personally prefer.

Alternatively, you could get a green fridge or install a fridge in cabinetry, etc. And then just do a black microwave. The fridge has the largest mass. So a black fridge would be what creates the most heavy look and feel in the setup.

While these cabinets are white, black + stainless steel looks okay to me.

It would be easy to mix the SS with brass and black accents in a moss green kitchen. If you go with SS appliances, then consider brass faucets & hardware

I specifically choose stainless wall ovens even though the refrigerator and dishwasher are white. I did this because the countertops are white also and the original white ovens made the kitchen feel like a bowling alley. The ovens are at the end of a long row of cabinets but across from a stainless cover for our indoor gas grill (that we never use). Beyond these items the cabinets are narrower and make a space for a small table.

@Amy Jackson it sounds like your designer wants to make your stove a focal point by making it different. That's perfectly acceptable. Don't worry about it.

Pictures are always a ood idea. I think you can mix what the designer in suggesting if the range is a real star so Inned to see the space and that range. Wall color IMO is the last decision made right along with backsplash so do not let wall color dictate anything .

There are no pictures. We'll just have to make do. @Amy Jackson if you have floor plans and perspectives from your builder, that might substitute for the folks asking for pictures. I don't need a picture to confirm for you that your designer's idea is probably ok. She's likely making your stove and oven a focal point by using a contrasting appliance color. I think you are really smart to have a designer involved with your new build from the beginning!

Show a picture, as to what range? It has a brand, a model? What size etc?
