Love your classic house! i would not do either of the suggestions - larger exterior lights would give you some oomph, they are of often up to 1/3 of the door height (I think the recco is 1/4 the door height if you have 2 lights)

IMO painting brick is the fasteset way to devalue your home so #3 no way. I like a soft grayed green with brick this is one of my faves Do the shutters the garage door and all the trim it will halp with the roofline which IMO is a bit busy.

I'm not a fan of very dark roofs because they attract and hold heat, but you do have a lot of mature trees in the back. If you don't pursue the sage green look, I would do a combination of #2 and 3 - unpainted brick with darker middle section. When there is high contrast between the siding and brick the two surfaces don't integrate well. They look like pieces from two separate houses.

Thanks kandrewspa! That's a good point about the dark roof. The trees are not close to the house, they just kinda look like that in the picture. I like the idea of keeping the brick and doing a darker middle. I wonder if that would look ok with the white windows (can't paint those, they're vinyl). Happy Thanksgiving!

I think a darkish blue would look good for your siding. Keep the brick. The black and white version was way too stark. One of the issues with photoshops is they brighten everything up. Your original photo is tilted and the siding looks shaded. I suspect if you photoshopped a bit of brightness, people would like it better. In pic #3, the brick to the far right is very light and bright. It's not showing the shade that would be natural there.

While photoshop can give you ideas, make sure you're not choosing a color scheme because the photoshop was made brighter than it would be in real life.

Thank you Sigrid (my husband has a cousin named Sigrid)! All good points about photoshop and lighting. I tried to take the photo leve and didn't even realize it was tilted until I posted it here lol. I'll look into a darkish blue, hadn't even thought of that.

I love the dark roof and dark shutters, just not the white paint that goes with it.

It’s difficult to picture the white windows, and possibly white porch railings, with the dark paint. I’ve not been able to figure out how to use the visualizer to do a mock-up. If you have a good paint store nearby, perhaps someone there could upload a photo and do it for you.

Good idea ffpalms! I haven't figured out hot to do a mock-up either. I'll see if I can find a paint store to do that. The company who did this visualization allows one free revision, so maybe I can ask them to do something like that. If we went with a darker paint for the siding, I was thinking maybe I could go slightly darker with the porch railings or the same color??
