Backlit Mirrors and wall sconces?

We are adding a Master bath to our 1953 MCM home.. The double sink will have 2 mirrors and 3 wall sconces. Has anyone done wall sconces AND backlit mirrors? I like the idea of both, but am not sure if that works or is overkill/tacky?

FYI: I have yet to read anywhere, where back-lit mirrors lone, were enough light for a bathroom mirror.

    We did backlit mirrors, overhead sconces, cans and a chandelier! Our mirrors aren't bright enough on their own to do makeup etc.
