I don't see any blue. I see beige, brownish gold and brown. It's a nice color scheme, but you'd have to be careful about adding the right blue. My take is the color of the walls is too close to the color of the sofa and you need more color contrast in the room. I'd add some curtains, probably in one of the darker browns you have. Or maybe pick up a reddish or greenish tone from your rug. (Of course, blue would do, if you have some blue).

That said, it's a pleasant, relaxing color scheme and plenty of people like that. I'm a bit more on the paint-it-all-purple side of the spectrum.

I think you need a rectangular coffee table, and my choice would be glass topped and rectangular. I say "my choice" because I can choose all I like, I wouldn't be the one cleaning the table top. But you're right, the current 'table' is not right. It belongs in another room. The basket would look good on a glass table.

On that, I would probably put a vase with flowers or winter berries depending on season. That's your colour punch.

Adding some window panels is a good way to bring in texture and/or color (not sure I’d do blue panels, though). It is nice to continue colors from other rooms, because it gives your home some flow. What blues do you have in your other spaces? The throw pillows carry over the color from the art, so seem to work well now. You could also bring in a nice cashmere throw with color.

A life long Caper, I do not see "traditional New England feel" (except for your 12/12 windows.) Unfortunately for the windows and your ability to hang window treatments, the construction of your house was not 2 x 6, which impacts headers and window sills.

I do think your room looks very nice (a bit crowded with the sectional), so suggest you add touches of blue, but subtly. Example:

Replace the ottoman with blue accents.

This room looks like perfection to me. If you need more color, bring in a large plant with broad leaves. It will nicely tie in the view of greenery out the windows and bring it in to your room. I wouldn't add blue. If you get a new coffee table I'd get a round one with legs. The inside space of the sectional is a bit tight and a chunky coffee table might get clunky feeling. Legs will open things up.

If you like navy, here are inexpensive ways to add it (or any color). Lamp, cocktail table and fabric drapes or another soft window treatment. Then pillows (which I’m terrible at but others aren’t.)

If you’re handy, you can get an inexpensive table and spray paint the legs. I have two glass consoles behind my sectional and changed the cheap gold brass legs to an elegant muted antique brass. Legs can be sprayed in an hour.

Any color you love can be added with accessories. Your room is quite lovely but I can see the wish to add some color.

I'm not seeing any blue, but it is a nice room. Adding drapery panels would be a nice look and you could do it in the caramel color. I'd like the wall art, but not in the corner with the wall sconce. Is removing the sconce an option? Is so I'd remove and then hang the wall art a few inches lower. That with a new cocktail table or ottoman will add a lot.

I think drapes would weigh down the room with more fabric- I’d pain the walls a light pale blue/grey and change the rug to something light. There’s a lot of beige now and with the big sofa it all blends a lot. A nature Roy d wood table like some suggested could look good and the trees and pillows with pattern and color are good. Mirrors can also lighten the room and colored frames can be easy, fun and in expensive : )

I think you don't need to stay too far from your current color palette. You just need more contrast.

I like your room but it feels heavy. Lots and lots of things below 4’ and nothing above that level. I think the lamp arrangement in the corner is pulling it down. What about an arc light floor light instead to add some height? Or…you’ve got so many pot lights in the ceiling it would be easy for an electrician to add a hanging fixture in that corner instead. I love your art but it seems lost in that corner. Perhaps a fuller view of the room would give a different perspective

Start with an area rug that has the colors you want - blue, as you mentioned, as well as some other colors that you like. Adding blue furnishings when there’s no blue in the rug won’t look coordinated. When you have the right colored rug, the rest of the things - lamps, furniture, pillow, accessories, etc. will make sense.
