Are you sure you want your master bedroom in the front? Most would want the garage in the front and master bedroom in the rear with backyard views and/or access. Also less car/pedestrian noises and lights entering the bedroom.

Yes, we are in the country, surrounded by Amish farms as far as we can see . We are building on our current land where we have a house now, the layout of the land with the current driveway the garage needs to be in the rear.

A door at the bottom of a stair without a landing is against code in most jurisdictions and against common sense in all jurisdictions.

Space on a master bathroom counter is more valuable than space in a shower.

If there is an exterior wall in a room there should most likely be a window in it.

Base cabinets on a wall perpendicular to adjacent washer and dryer is difficult to access the corner.

Windows that open to an exterior living space should not encroach into the exterior living space.

Closet doors width should not be more than one foot less than the width of the closet.

Lay out furniture to scale in every space to make sure they work well and are sized right.

Fake dormers are rarely a good idea.

Lay out mechanical equipment to scale in mechanical rooms and review with trhe mechanical contractor.

Houses should be designed to respond to its site.

Thank you for your feedback. There won’t be base cabinets next to the washer/dryer, it will be shelves for laundry baskets. Not sure how else to configure master bath to accommodate larger vanity. The stair doorway is a sore spot… it’s been a nightmare trying to find a solution for the access to the storage area without taking up floor space.

The way it is shown, whether it is shelves or base cabinets, it will be difficult to access the space between the side of the dryer and the wall. Consider a parallel layout.

A 3' x 5' shower will provide more vanity space.

Eliminate the door at the bottom of the stair and add a door at the top of the stair if needed. The door should not swing over the steps.
