I would think about a low-ish console that spans almost that whole wall - you will want a large piece to balance the TV. Personally I would not decorate around the TV but keep it sleek and simple

Where is the rest of the room please? You Don't have to decorate "around" a flat screen, yes you need a larger console below. But one shot of tape and xmas decor, isn't very informative. Post more angles of the total room, below in comments.

The taped differential is meaningless, a difference you probably won't perceive.

You can add You tube art to any smart tv.....any. Meaning the tv need not be a black hole gaping and the you tube art is free and a huge selection which can also revolve.

I just bought a MantelMount for my TV over the fireplace. The company has a special going on right now (plus an EXTRA20 code that you can type in as well). The mount lets the TV swing out over the mantel, and you can pull it down to a prior viewing height. Haven't installed it yet, so only repeating what the advertising says. Given the height of my mantel, it seems like a great idea.

You need to show the room from all four sides so everyone can see your style, finishes, other furnishings. It's imporant to see the space to suggest how far back you should place your seating. The bigger the TV, the farther back seating needs to be. Good design isn't just about one wall. It's holistic and takes into account the entire space someone sees when they walk in a room. Maybe you need storage to corral stuff from around the room or for your kids.

Meanwhile, I agree you need something long and low that goes all the way across that wall to balance out the TV so it doesn't overhwhelm the room. No lamps there. (People can help you with the best layout and location of those lamps.)

Sometimes an accent wall helps the TV disappear, but even so something very wide needs to go under a huge TV. Because you haven't shown us enough visual information, it's hard to suggest what color an accent wall might be. The room below is very modern, so a single large art piece helps balance out the TV.

Please make sure you dont hang the new tv as high as you've marked. it should be centered at seated eye level. hanging it higher than your door frame will not be comfortable for viewing nor will it look good.

Agree that the TV needs to be lower. Height is partially dependent on how far away you’re sitting, but where it is marked currently is too high unless you have elevated seating.

There are many options for media cabinets, but you need to start with your style or the style of the home. Patricia’s ikea suggestion is a good one. Wayfair has a ton. Just make sure the console is a little wider than the TV. I personally find it distracting to surround the tv with art.

Wow, those are large sized tv's! Instead of trying to place either of those on a stand I will suggest you just wall mount but as others have said maybe place it a bit lower. With that size I don't really think you need much around it to decorate. Placing lamps nearby might not be the best idea as that will produce glare that would make tv viewing more difficult. Make the stand below as wide as that wall. Definitely get something with storage for your space. Love the piece in Patricia Colwell's post--something along those lines--pullout drawers for toys if you have kids, cords, etc. Agree no decor on walls since you have such a huge TV. Again, you've gotten suggestions, but you really limited the advice by treating your wall as if the other three walls don't exist.

You're not showing us the total room, but I'm guessing that neither the table lamp or the floor lamp is in the best position in the room.

I'm bumping up my old thread about newbies posting photos of an entire space if they want best answers. it's very limiting for Commentors not to know how big the room is, where the sofa is located, what the style, finishes, and colors are,what adjacent spaces the room opens to. So many Design Dilemmas wouldn't be dilemmas if folks took into account their entire spaces and planned accordingly. Starting up that post again! The poster hasn't even checked back.

Hi I would mount the TV on the wall and choose a long console that is not too high, something low would look better I think. With doors or drawers rather than the open one so you can easily keep the clutter away.

Don’t you already have a 75”+ tv on the wall behind your sectional? This will be your second tv in the room? How can you watch the one behind the sectional? I am unclear about your room arrangement and the need for a second tv in this room. Can you clarify?

The couch used to be where the new TV is going, thus the reason for that tv that is hung in the pictures.

We’re thinking of moving the couch to under that hung tv (where it is now in the pictures), and then would be buying the larger tv for that big wall.

I notice that storage was mentioned in one of the comments. I don’t think you really have any storage issues. But just to note: the long, low console, that I posted above, has an open storage side shown; however, the piece features hidden door handles, and lots of closed storage, as well. If you read the description and reviews, you will get a sense of the closed storage possibilities. Also, as far as lighting: I think you may still be able to use your tripod floor lamp in the corner area to right of console, pretty much as you have it now. And if you want more light there, maybe a small lamp on left side of console.

It’s always good to research and you’ll notice you are drawn over and over to a similar look. Save your favorites, define your budget and then narrow down. Try Pinterest and there is also lots of helpful advice.

To me the wall’s expanse/angle/height has to be considered and if budget allowed, use bulk/height to achieve a needed balance. Lots of ideas on line - add “with bookcases“ in the search.

If handy (or hire) add shelving above console.

Or…keep the wall to a mimimim. Once it’s set up and you feel you need something for balance, test the feel in second picture; less is more but scale is important.

Here are a couple of layouts for your room. I don't think I'd put the TV on the walkway wall.

I suggest a long wall mounted unit under the TV. You can look into Ikea's Besta Series, not expensive and actually looks quite nice and available in different finishes (we can't see your decor so difficult to suggest one). The marks on the wall for your TV seem quite high to me I would lower the TV, install sconces on both sides. If you want additional decor on the wall, a strip of framed artwork above the TV would be an option. Here's the look...

PS Hadn't see the extra photos posted when I did this. I think I prefer the TV between the walkway wall than the seating that people would have to detour but we don't have any dimensions so...
