someone please correct me if i am wrong but... when installing shower wall panels then they fit over the lip of any particular pre made shower base. and so, if the shower base comes to the end of its life then so do the panels? ie. the panels have to be pulled out in order to replace the shower base?

the reason i'm asking is that i am looking at some more expensive shower panel options (for example, dekton) that will probably last forever want to confirm that i should spend just as much money on a base. a dekton base, staninless steel or similar. we're not really interested in grout anymore.

anyone have any experience with pre made non fibreglass shower bases?

thanks a bunch!
