You might want to consider two or three pieces instead of one since you have a large expanse of wall. Usually the decor covers at least 2/3 of the sofa width. Also some floor and table lamps to add lighting at a lower level, all overhead lighting can seem like an office. Plus the lamps will add height and bookend the art.

The dog picture is too big for the spot that you want to cover. The painting that you show is ho-hum.

I like @Paul F. suggestion of multiple pieces. You could work the dog picture in with perhaps a picture of your adorable helper (B&W) and then one of them together. I think you photoshopped the dog pic in so not sure of the size but you'll need to be cognizant of the size of the three pics.

I also agree with his comment on color. I see your B&W check pillows. There's probably going to a lot of red & white or red & black check pillows on sale soon so you could add a few of those for color.

Thank you! I have two little helpers so I can do one of each of them along the picture of the pup. Yes I photoshopped the photo of pup in. Mr. squirrel is a stuffed animal the pup is obsessed with which she carries very gently- her first one's tail ripped off and she was very upset over it.

IMO art is the easy place to add some color then usae acolor from the art fo a couple of pillows. The big issue IMO is the rug is too small. I rarely like mutiple pics hung together but you could go arger . I use Art.com a lot since many pieces come in different sizes. Yes you need lighting and end tables. You might need to do a carpet cut to the right size and bound fot that space

Yes I agree! Rug is tiny... it is from my daugher's old nursery. We will get a new one once the pup is better behaved!

Why are you arranging the room this way? Seems counterintuitive. The layout below makes more sense IMO. Then you don't require any art and you can select a larger TV screen for the wall.

I agree with having a bigger rug it will definitely transform the place so as soon as you lovely pup is better behaved don't be scared to go big! When it comes to the artwork above the sofa, both the wall and sofa are quite big so I would maybe even go for a 3 piece art it doesn't have to be as wide as the sofa I would go a bit smaller in width. I'm also intrigued by what Beverly posted I wonder where you TV or a console is in this space, maybe showing the whole space would also be good to see if you have the best possible layout right now.

Also agree with a bigger rug but it seems to be more under the sectional at the far end, perhaps you can bring it forward so that it's evently spaced on both side of the sectional.

I would suggest 2 large square art frames to balance with your large sofa. You can bring some colour in those frames and eventually go with some of those colours if you decide to change your accent pillows. I also suggest a nice large base lamp on your end table and a coffee table (square or round depending on the space you have).

I have high respect for Beverly's decor skills, and usually like most everything she posts. Saying that though, I never understand sofas placed with their back against the main window, to me this should be a design no no, for me it is just off, I'm not a pro though. When sitting or reading you loose the view out the window, and people outside when entering looki at the back of a sofa. That being said, maybe there is an alternative in this room, to where the sectional is now placed, in order to take more advantage of the large wall behind it

We have a den with a tv. The couch was against the window in here and I hated it! We had a tv and everyone driving by saw our tv and knew when we were home. So this is now a sitting room, conversation, board game space (table pending)
