Double Daylilies 2023

Post your photos of delightful double daylilies here. This is the last of the color and form posts. I hope everyone will have a good Christmas.

I only have three double daylilies now, and two of them didn't bloom last season. So the only one I have to show is Siloam Double Classic.

Amethyst Art is my only double. I love the color and it stays because it is a nice and neat type of double.

I have several doubles, again, I like the contrast they add to the garden.

Solar Blast is a wild double and a good grower.

Siloam Peony Display is fairly new here.

Siloam Double Delight is a good plant….has been divided several times. It did have shorter scapes this past season.

    Schnickle Fritz

Savannah Debutante had first blooms last season.

Night Embers has been in the garden a long time…..last season it suffered a bit.

    Iddy Biddy Gal

Fancy Buttons is pretty but not prolific here.

    Siloam Double Classic

Mulberry Truffle is new to the garden.

    Fresh Look.

I like the form on Amethyst Art. I don't have many doubles and they are all older ones.

    Delta's Dream

    Land of Cotton

    Siloam Glory Bee

    Night Embers

Brad: Apparently you like the hose in hose type double. Your Amethyst Art is a pretty example of one.....Sherry: You have quite a few nice ones. I always like your Night Embers and it's on my long list. Siloam Peony Display has great form that's right up my ally...... Debra. What a great shot of Siloam Double Classic. The color on it can be quite varied from other pictures I've seen. I like the color on yours........Celeste: Another good shot of Night Embers and Delta's Dream is a sweet color.....I like doubles and have a few myself:

I think this happens to everyone once in awhile, a single will double on itself. I remember Coral Majority started up the season here years ago with all doubles. I liked the doubles better then the singles. In that vein here's another example of the odd double popping up on a single:

    'Abstract Orange:

New last year and very cute. I look forward to more this next season:

    Little Dream Caster:

One of my favorite yellows. It's tender so is not left outside over winter.

    Dutch Yellow Truffle:

No Way Jose. A Dale Hensley one that I've had for years and like very much:

Maryl, I love all of your doubles! Its a little harder to find nice ones. Petal Pushers has alot but I am hesitant to purchase from them again, first experience wasnt the best. Here is Mysterious Eyes from last year, it had all doubles last season. I never saw a double bloom on it in the 10 or so years it has been here. It isnt a registered double.

There are certainly several doubles posted that I like, but I have to remind myself to stay focused. I only have so much room. Here are thedoubles which do well for me.

PEGGY JEFFCOAT: My favorite double that I grow. Large flowers. Certainly a front of the border plant.

    TOPGUNS LAVENDER LACE

    SWEEPING SHADOWS

    VOODOO DANCER

    That is all from me.
