Well, my prior post started as an interim kitchen facelift dilemma.

Then hubby decided if we were going do do the kitchen, we were going to wait until the funds were there to do what we want. So the discussion moved into the lounge on the side of the kitchen, which I also wanted to redo and have the funds to take a whack at right now.

So now we are on wait until early next year for the kitchen and the lounge is in full swing. Hence the new post! The other one just got too long and it was hard for newcomers to catch up with the shift in focus.

Status:

Sold four heavy recliners that were really weighing down the area and bought two vintage mid century modern Milo Baughman recliners.

Have another mid-century suite on its way after purchasing on eBay. These are a lounge chair/rocker/ottoman combo designed by Ole Wanscher. Should be here on 9/10.

Replaced my gray rug that was pulled out of shape with a gray rug that is a foot narrower. This will make it so that when we re-do the kitchen there is plenty of room for barstools.

Currently, I'm trying to select fabric to reupholster the chairs.

Eventually, we will also be redoing the fireplace...but that's even after the kitchen!

So there you are! Below are some pics of the area, as well as of my living and dining room for those just joining us. Obviously, I'm good with color. I like to call my style "Danish modern on acid," which I consider to be a mix of Danish modern and 70s mod.
