I think the option you're considering is a great compliment to the other things in your home. By vinyl, I assume you mean vinyl plank. If you mean vinyl sheet flooring, there are a lot of options out there that are greatly improved over our grandma's vinyl sheet flooring. I'm not familiar with them but have seen some in commercial settings that look very good.

I am confused are you doing all the upstairs flooring or just the stairs? I have no idea how tozmo1 knows what else is in your home since I do not see pics of your home only stairs and a peek at tile.. I really dislike wall to wall carpet alwys so I need more info please .

@Patricia Colwell, I'm brilliant! that's how I know 😂. In her post she said the only floors she needs to coordinate with are the stairs and tile shown. Everything else is a blank slate. She's removing the carpet. I see white walls upstairs also.
