Ruggable rugs experience?

I’m considering purchasing a Ruggable brand rug for the living room. Reviews on the company website are overwhelmingly positive. I’m seeking objective opinions as to whether “you get what you pay for” with rugs vs. it looks and feels like a high quality living room quality rug.

I think they are ok for what they are. We recently got a puppy so we rolled up the good rug to put down a Ruggable temporarily.

This is the good one from Crate and Barrel.

    Ruggable with puppy.

Thanks. Cute pup and smart thinking. How does the Ruggable feel underfoot? Did you buy the regular pad or the extra thick pad?

Bought one for my dil, Christmas plaid. She has since bought two more and just said she will only by ruggable for dog areas as they look great when washed.

It is thin but I believe it has the heavier under pad (inherited it from my brother). I don’t think anyone would believe it is the same quality or look of a real wool rug.

I have one in my mud room. Washed it once and it came out really clean. I’ve heard that some don’t lay flat after being washed, but I’m not sure if that’s bc of the rug or bc they’re not following instructions. Mine still lays flat. Agree with the poster above that it won’t pass for a real rug. I’m very happy with it for my mud room, but wouldn’t put them anywhere else.

I have a long runner in my entrance and it washes beautifully and lays flat after. Of course it's not a wool rug but with the underpad it's perfect for my use, and I do have a dog. My daughter and friends also have one in their family room and they love it!

Have a dog and cats and couldn’t have a nonwashable rug near the treat drawer. Agree with the consensus of other posters. Mine has shrunk a little so I cut the rug pad underneath to match.

I have a long ruggable runner on the thicker pad in my kitchen. The runner part is bigger than the pad and the loose edges curl up; I complained and they refunded my money for the runner but not the pad.

It’s ok for my kitchen but no way would I put one in my living room. To me, it’s obviously a ruggable and in no way comparable to a wool rug. It’s like comparing a natural hardwood floor to vinyl peel-and-stick tiles.

The top part, the washable part, is just a bit more substantial than denim material. Kind of a blend between denim and flat-weave corduroy. There is no discernable nap.
