I wouldn't use a sheer. Do you need privacy or light control or are the curtains just for decor purposes?

I would hang them wide on either side of the radiator. You'll have to get 4 panels for each window so they don't look skimpy.

The radiators look shallow enough that full lenth might work. There are diverters that you can put on the radiators so the air flows down, or you could just open them when using the heat. The curtain rods might need to protrude out a bit more than normal to have them hang straight. Now, the real reason I responded. I do not like grommet panels. I think they look like shower curtains. But my personal preference doesn't matter. In a comtemporary setting they fit, but your home is traditional. I think black curtain rings or pinch pleat would go with your house better.

@deegw the doors will be replaced. They are old Dutch doors. There is a window on ea side of door

Unless you do custom, the length of stock curtains is going to determine the height of the rod. You should be able to use the 96-inch length, you can add a couple of inches with rings if necessary.

I agree that grommet curtains don't seem to be a good style fit for what we can see of the space but it is possible to use transitional decor in a traditional space

I have a mixed traditional / contemporary style. This is a very unusual house but I love it. I am moving my existing furniture in there and need to make due best can :). I’ll replace the doors and although I enjoy pinch pleat etc At this point they are just not affordable. I’ll have to drop down the curtain rods approximately 5 inch to make for a 96in curtain. Here is a pic of my existing decor that will be moved to new home. I will be painting new wall’s Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace.

You might consider window-length Roman shades which would not interfere with the radiators.

You can make pinch pleated from ikea curtains very easy on youtube etc.

I think the rod up that high next to the beams seems off so move it down the 5 inches you mentioned.

I would go for a sandy camel color for the drapes
