I think if you can open the door into the hall you could doa regular door but i grew up in a house with pocket doors in many places and thwy were great . I do find they are not as sound proof as a good quality regular door. I see no issue with the new layout the toilet is fine where it is . Waht are planning for the shelves ? Myself I wouls want a longer tub I am tall and it is nice to be able to actually get my knees under the water . I think maybe one or 2 nice thick shelves but idf this is tub/ shower no way would I do shelves there. I am not sure what the issue is with the tililet it will be visible either way and it is a bathroom. I have virtually the same layout only my space is a bit smaller so only one sink. I have been amrried for more than 60 yrs and in all that time we have never had two sinks and have never needed them You have space so why not . I would not want to access the controls from leaning across the vanity so I would want that switchen to the place where you have the shelves now .so you could do something at the nd of the tub/ shower beside the vanity . Mlkae sure you know where towels will go I like hooks much more than towel bars,

I think toilet is fine. it looks hard to access bath controls to me - i’d rather have one sink and be able to turn on shower without contorting myself or getting wet.

I think the second option looks better. And a swing door, not a pocket door.

Does it need two sinks? My two boys had two sinks, in fact the same layout as your second option. They were rarely in there at the same time, and both used the same sink. The one closest to the door just got dusty. What would have been better is one sink, more drawers and counterspace.

btw, why a door on the tub-shower combo? What a pain, to use the shower and to keep the whole thing clean. How about a great curtain?
