Ceanothus 'Dark Star' seedlings--Zones 10a-9b

I planted two 'Dark Star" ceanothus fifteen years ago; one died last year, the other I just removed. Near both plants are/were a gazillion seedlings (I removed most). The leaves are bigger on the seedlings and the 7' tall seedling is starting to bloom in our SF Bay Area. Are these seedlings true to the 'Dark Star' cultivar or did they revert to the species? Many thanks.
