Here are some examples of the "look and feel" we are after for this small basement bathroom with no windows. Example 1 ; Example 2. Our bathroom measures 4'11" x 12'9".

Here is a photo of our bathroom (it has since been renovated a slight bit as seen in second photo):

Here are some things to keep in mind:

** We HATE traditional farmhouse light fixtures with exposed light bulbs (too harsh), so we'd like suggestions on something easy on the eyes.

** Looking to create more storage/countertop space

** Wall on opposite side of sink will be wainscoting in SW Dover White (similar to this image)

** Would like to use floor tile (TBD) for wainscoting on the wall behind and to the left of the toilet for easy cleaning

** We're getting quotes for a 36" custom vanity with lots of storage; color/wood species TBD.

** We plan to extend the shower so end result would resemble this image.

** Wall paint color will likely be a gray/green shade.

Some ideas we are tossing around, but need your advice/guidance/feedback:

** Should we place a full length mirror with medicine cabinet on the wall above the sink and toilet?

** Should we consider a niche behind sink for additional counter space?

** What are your thoughts about removing the drywall around original exposed wood beam on celling?

** Would like to incorporate something different and unusual in shower corner similar to this concept since you will see that corner through the glass shower door when you walk in. What are your thoughts on using Florida Tile Color Wheel Classic subway tile in Matte Biscuit (which wouldn't clash with the SW Dover White wainscoting) and a wood-look tile (mosaic?) in the corner?

Thanks in advance for your guidance, suggestions, and expertise!
