Yes, They look a lot more like Taxodium cones than Metasequoia cones, to me.

ken, I've seen baldcypress cones breaking up into separate seeds on the ground. That's how I collected seeds underneath a couple trees and grew alot of them for planting along my border stream.

blakrab, one would guess there'd be alot of brown, woody seeds underneath (unless someone is cleaning up there). and it does look like baldcypress.
