I went down quite a rabbit hole reading about PEI (Porcelain Enamel Institute) ratings and water absorption classifications for tile, but many tile sites don't provide those ratings and classifications on their websites anyway.

I would recommend ordering plenty of samples and testing them: leave spots of red sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, etc. overnight, and see how they clean up. You may also want to leave a tile half submerged in water to see whether it absorbs. Keep a fresh tile for comparing.

Also, if you are looking for a very consistent look like your inspiration picture, be sure to check the variation level of the tile (V1 - V4, V1 is the lowest.) You can't always trust the marketing photos because they sometimes cull the tiles to reduce or eliminate variation and get a consistent look. I learned this the hard way. (My experience.)

I used this tile for a shower and like you was concerned that a matte finish might be hard to clean. I tested the sample with purple shampoo as well as stuff I'd never use in a shower (like all the stuff I mentioned to test with above) and it cleaned up beautifully, so maybe you can find a white matte that works for you. Note that the tile linked above also comes in a white color (in a hex shape.)

Did you finish your kitchen? What BS, countertop and color it cabs did you end up using? Whites have so many underlying colors it's hard to put together. I love your pics!
