No expertise on the cabinet construction but are they offering you alternatives to grey?

Do the maple front drawers have dovetails? I think those are significantly stronger than staples, or whatever else they're using. Drawers get used a lot and need to be sturdy; make sure the bottoms are thick enough to hold substantial weight.

IMO wood is not great for painted cabinets so I would do the melamine boxes with MDF doors painted.I have no dovetails in my cabinets they have lasted for 16 yrs in my catering kitchen they are Ikea. BTW all but my under sinks cabinets are drawers and hold a ton of weight with no issues

The maple are not dovetails. nor are the MDF. That is a upgrade. The MDF are plywood. Sorry for the confusion. The bottoms are not thick. It is a lot if grey and griege; which i dont hate (open concept and it matches my full grain leather furniture current dinning room and living room furniture). i was wondering if the contstucton was a deal breaker. my brother-in-law picked first and took the dark grey. I really didn’t want white. Fugured it would be hard to clean. if it lasted with melamine that long it shouf be fine. i heard MDF was better for painted. Thank you for the confirmation.
