Sage green is nice with oak, but your floor isn't helping so I would look at warm whites.

If you are buying regular samples, please dont put them on the wall in small patches, use poster paper and paint so you can move them around. One color on each poster paper. Or you can buy the samplize ones and move them around.

@C_fan - We all learned this trick the hard way. It’s not too late to get poster board. The ability to move the pieces around the room is worth the effort.

Wall color is just one factor in the look of a room. You're only showing part of the space, which makes it hard for anyone to suggest a color.

Are you doing anything else in the space or just repainting?

@Diana Bier Interiors, LLC I was planning on just paiting. Maybe putting up some more window treatments. It’s a narrow room, about 12ft wide. I have lived here a couple years and have struggled with the space the entire time. Here is another photo. I am not able to change the carpet at this time. As much as I want to.

edited to add….or change the lighting or the large TV. I mostly keep the lights off a s use the lamps.

@RedRyder you are right. I have found what isn’t working. I do really like the Neutral Ground and the others you mention but I was hoping to find something darker then that. But in all honesty, I have no idea what I’m doing.

You may want to sample London Fog by Benjamin Moore. It looks like it would work well with both your carpet and tile. I included a couple of inspiratiuon pics for color palette and window blinds.
