I live in the northeast and im currently putting in a new deck, half of which will be covered by an open air roof structure similar to what is in the picture below. ill be finishing the underside of the roof with a stained pine (also a similar look to the picture) and I want to make sure its being installed and treated to prevent warping, cracking or discoloration due to the weather. For example, Ive been told to make sure both sides of the pine are stained to prevent moisture from entering the wood and causing warping. Any other recommendations would be appreciated. thanks!
