Help with petunias ! recomendations needed

Hey everyone. I have 6 hanging baskets on my front porch and a few planters in front of the porch. Every year I plant the pink proven winners supertunias and a couple other colors. I get lots of compliments from everyone in the neighborhood and keep them going until fall. I am in zone 7a Philadelphia by the way. Getting them is expensive and I’d like to start growing some petunias from seed. Currently scrolling through the park seed catalog and it’s got me motivated to give it a try. Any recommendations ? I am not particular on a certain color. I’ve went with pink supertunias because they seem to get the most blooms. I want lots of blooms and a vigorous plant. The proven winners don’t need to be deadheaded so I’d like if the suggestion doesn’t need to be deadheaded.

do you have a light stand.. to generate the light you need to grow young vibrant plants.. indoors in winter... ???

and experience with such???

one thing for sure.. you will not get the instant gratification of buying the plants or pots intact in late spring... you will have to grow them to that point... and though they will get there... you have to be patient and trust that they will...

i had a lot of winter fun doing all this... i wish you luck..

More expensive than seed but much cheaper than large plants are plugs. Someone else does the hard work of germination and early care and you take delivery of baby plants which are then easy to grow on.

I have bought plugs on line but I'm in the UK. I don't know the situation in the US but I'm sure they're available.
