These days, most appliance manufacturers, do a poor job of keeping replacement parts in production and inventoried past just a few years after discontinuing an appliance model, if that much. However, Subzero is one of the last standing that actually keep parts on hand for much older models. So, with a Subzero, you should not have to worry about parts access for a very long time down the road. When it comes to features, you’ll have to compare between the old and the new, but it’s hard to imagine anything earth shattering that they’ve introduced in their new line of refrigerators that would be worth $2000, but again, When it comes to features, it’s very subjective in terms of what you may want or not care about.

You are correct that the MSRP of brand new Subzeros is not negotiable , but you might have at least some additional wiggle room on the price if it is a floor model. All the best on your decision.

We bought a 12 year od SZ about 12 years ago for a tenth the price of a new one. Have not ever regretted that choice for an instant. I'd definitely go with the floor model at a discount. Like getting stoves and washing machines without any electronics, there's much to be said for functional simplicity and repairability. These are delightfully simple machines, there's no revolutionary change needed.

Your deposit may not have been a waste because if we are talking about the same dealership, they just want to sell appliances and so you can always at least ask them if your deposit can be put toward the floor model instead of a new one. There are lots of people waiting still for new models straight out of the factory and due to the delays, the dealer should have no problem getting the new unit sold (the one that you put a deposit down on ). If they are willing to do this for you, they will likely end up selling two refrigerators and keeping both you and another waiting customer happy.
