Kitchen window and tile

My kitchen is currently being renovated. We need to out tile around a window that is behind the sink due to not having enough room for the 4 inch quartz backsplash we originally planned.
The issues are 1) The window is low and only about 3.5 inches from the counter. 2) it has casing only on 3 sides because there was previously a laminate backsplash under the window.
Our contractor suggested tiling tp 18 inches height around the window to match what we're doing on the other side of the kitchen and putting a Schluter edge piece on top. I am having a hard time picturing how this would look. I have googled for hours and found nothing similar.
I thought perhaps we could put the Schluter all around where the tile meets the window frame. Would that look better? Rough sketches are attached.
Or should we try to remove the window casing entirely?
Anything we're not thinking of?
