Today, Thursday, we had a one day wonder of a high of 48 degrees. We, along with everyone else in Tulsa, hit the streets trying to do the shopping we haven't been able to do in well over a week. Tomorrow back in the mid 20's with fierce north winds. At least we had this one day......Sherry: There isn't a daylily you have posted that doesn't appeal to me. I grew Indian Giver when I first started out and it certainly did not look as good as yours. Itza Pink Teddy is probably my favorite.............I don't have any I's so I'll just cheer everyone else along........Maryl

We are back in the deep freeze with strong winds making it worse.

I Dreamed a Dream is registered at 3.5 inches, but it may be a little bigger than that in our garden.

Unfortunately I Lava You was in the crush zone so we didn't get to see much of it.

If It Only Had a Porche is a very good grower.

Illinois Jacquet Flies Again has a huge flower. Unfortunately, it too was in the crush zone.

Impressionist Sky is not very well budded and seems to open a lot of flowers at once.

This is Indiana Melissa blooming in the greenhouse last March.

Indigent Hobbit is a very good grower.

It's Glad Cows Don't Fly is one of my favorite diploids.

We hit the mid-thirties yesterday, but got 3 inches of snow last night, still snowing and we are going back to the deep freeze this weekend before we hit 50's later in the week. Our mini-split heater went out on Monday [like a heat pump but no duct work]. We fortunately never took out our baseboard heaters so we are ok.

I like your Iza Pink Teddy. Very pretty.

Ice Carnival. It had an extra good season this year. i also like it because it is late. It is also very white most of the time. Maybe it took some of your blooms.

Indian Giver did fairly well this year but some were really short.

Impetuous Fire does well every year.

Impetuosity did ok. Never is real profuse but adequate.

Nancy - I love the color and cascading form of If It Only Had a Porche.

Not a lot of I's bloomed here last year.

I Lava You looked pretty good as a clump, although deer ate about half of the buds.

Integrated Logistics only bloomed on a few fans last year, but its children crossed with Sugar Magnolia were tall and floriferous.

Indian Ripple had extremely short scapes last year - and not many buds. It did rebloom though.

Isabelle Rose-a fabulous grower in my garden. It usually reblooms at least twice.

Indian Ripple is not in the best spot in the garden. But it blooms late and is a bright spot when most are winding down.

Ima Pirate is a good bloomer but slow multiplier. I like this photo because the unbloomed scapes look like alien eyes! :)

Indian Giver languished in the jungle bed until I rescued it and gave it a prime spot. It even reblooms now!

Wow Kate, your Indian Giver looked marvelous last season! Mine was a miserable mess, hoping for better this summer.

Yes it did Sherry! I always thought your photos of Indian Giver were the standard! Hopefully it will bounce back.

I've had Indian Giver for many years, but it has NEVER shown coloration like the ones shared above. Is it due to soil pH in my case?? I am so disappointed...

Itza Pink Teddy is a lovely shade of pink. I Lava You looks good in Debra's pictures, but as I recall, she was not enthusiastic when she first got it. (Not uncommon for all of us with a new cultivar.)

Isabelle Rose did not have the year it had in 2022, and thus I saw no reason to take pictures. But here's a reprise of 2022.

I took a closeup of Indy Long Legs. Bill Maryott called it a sleeper. It is a diploid that creates a splash of color in the garden. But 2023 wasn't a good year.

Here it is in an earlier year. So many good pics from earlier years that I seldom photograph it now.

Impressionist Sky had fewer buds this past summer.

But its bud count has been quite good in the past. Pic taken later in the day, so not a good pic of color, but note that some scapes are well into the teens.

Isabelle Rose looks so fabulous in Mantis and David's photos! That clump is a wowzer, Mantis! I have been so unlucky with that cultivar. First it died in a pot last winter. Then my replacement, which I immediately planted, got mowed down twice by my yard guy. I doubt it will bloom this year.

I'm Gonna Love You Through It has a great bloom, but is a very slow multiplier. It often has more buds than registered here though.

Infinity & Beyond only bloomed on a fan or two this time and was very short.

Nan: I love the ruffles on I Dreamed a Dream. It's Glad Cows Don't Fly is unique looking. Goes along with it's rather convoluted name.........Brad: Nice color on Impetuous Fire....Debra: I forgot. I do have an "I". Indian Ripple is one of my favorites too.....Kate Ima Pirate is appealing. Looks like maroon and yellow coloring?..........Roxanna: Indian Giver for me was not the color of those shown by some. Purple's, lavenders etc. in roses AND in daylilies usually translate to some sort of maroon/mauve derivative here. It's a climate thing I've heard.....Mantis: Ideological Worldview catches my attention. The name tells me it's probably a Hanson........David: Iron Warrior and Imperial Decree are my favorites of this batch....................Weather (Saturday) it's a sunny 26 degrees, with forecast snow/ICE Sunday night Monday morning. David, Iron Warrior and Imperial Decree are my favorites of yours. I love the colors of both, and I find the color and name of Iron Warrior paradoxically humorous. .
