Sultans of Swing - what's its problem?

This hosta comes up with some good looking leaves, but others have spots that turn into dead tissue. At first I thought it could be weather related, but it's too many years in a row that it doesn't look right. It's more than one eye putting out the bad leaves. What do you think?

I'm thinking you're seeing a virus infection of some kind, doesn't look like HVX or Tobacco rattle but if it has shown like this for 2 years or more I'd be inclined to dispose of it.

It does seem like some sort of virus, and I guess there's not anything to do for it except to remove this hosta. That's a shame because it survived my garden's couple of stressful years. I'd like to plant another hosta in the area, but not exactly where this one is.
