Slightly larger, preferably horizontal or square piece of art above coffee area - WITH COLOR! 2-4 smaller pieces -- family photos? -- on the wall to dining room.

Or if you are feeling a bit daring you could wallpaper the wall behind coffee,

Maybe vertical wood slats ..on the wall…spaced openly above the cabinet would give it a bit more presence/impact…as the piece feels small and not that inclusive as is
